I recently finished my computer 3 days ago and I been smell weird smell from psu , My temps on everything are fine , and my psu has been working fine and I have no problem expect for this smell . ( by the way I had my computer fully built with out the gpu for about 7 months so the psu might have collected dust if that is important )

kinda like pastic and chemical idk how to describe it

Since the PSU has some runtime on it I can't say it's because it's new, sometimes a new component such as a PSU will have a "Smell" to it that goes away with use - Not the case here from what I'm seeing.
Dust in the unit can affect it but the above is correct - Check and see about an RMA just to be safe about it.

Minimum Power Supply Requirement: 650 watt

change your PSU  - As soon as Possible  750 or 850 W, I would go Seasonic quality warranty up to 12 years depends on the unit you buy.

Your Power Supply is at its limit, it is getting to hot because it is 100 % Utilized.

did you get the smell while system is IDLE or while you are running games?

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite,  Ryzen 9 3900x, Dark Rock Pro 4, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix  RGB 3600 MHz CL16 RAM, RTX 3080 TI FE Watercooled, 6 Case Fans,  Fractal Design Meshify S2

You are awesome, stay safe and healthy.

Burnt plastic - check the connectors where they go in devices (video card, hard drives etc). If the power supply is modular check connectors where they go in the power supply.

Check the AC cable going into the power supply.

If it smells weirder, like fish, could be capacitors being damaged and leaking electrolyte... should stop using the power supply.

I did find a piece of palstic peel on the motherboard that was in contact with the MB that could have caused the smell .

was it melting? or just laying around because it shouldn't be a problem for plastic to be there.

for me it realy sounds like your PSU

go to amazon and buy another psu with a higher rating, change it if it stops smelling you know it was the psu if not just send it back.

Yep, I took it out and now have started the RMA process with evga for the power supply. Wish me luck ! ( Will reply back when new PSU comes back )
