Greetings,

A little time ago I got my hands on a PowerEdge T310.

It was used in a school as its main domain controller.

For the moment I use it at home to run an Ark survival server or Conan exiles server (not at the same time), just for me, my wife and a couple friends.

But it's not without its issues, since the Dell is not build for this kind of work.

Even with only 4-5 people online at the same time, it shows in performance of the server.

So i'am wondering, is it worth or possible to upgrade a couple components to improve the experience.

Summary:
        Operating System
            Windows 10 64-bit
        CPU
            Intel Xeon X3480 @ 3.07GHz
            Lynnfield 45nm Technology
        RAM
            12,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 398MHz (6-6-6-16)
        Motherboard
            Dell Inc. 02P9X9 (CPU1)
        Graphics
            Generic Non-PnP Monitor (1920x1080@32Hz)
            Matrox Microsoft Basic Display-adapter (Dell)
        Storage
931GB Dell Virtual Disk SCSI Disk Device (SAS(Serial Attached SCSI) )

I would like to keep it budget friendly, so i am looking for a little older components.

Thanks in advance for the feedback

Swap the mb to something that can do bclk oc, any decent h55 or p55 from brands like asus, gigabyte, etc. Should be able to oc decently well, its a very old platform so if you dont oc then rip your performance

Youll also need good rams cause bclk oc will also oc the rams with it just like fsb oc
