Hi All,

I have an issue with my Acer monitor showing "Input Not Supported" when booting up. It will only display correctly once you get to the login screen.

I cannot access the bios or boot menu when plugged into this monitor. Once you're in windows everything works as it should.

Monitor: Acer 24" SA240Y

The system I am using:

AMD Ryzen 5 2600x

32GB DDR4 3200mhz

RX570 4GB

This machine has 2 boot drives:

1st Drive: Sabrent M.2 - Windows 11 Pro - Personal

2nd Drive: Maxtor SSD - Windows 10 Pro - Work

Note: I have unplugged the 2nd SSD and I still get the same issue.

I have tried wiping the graphics drivers and reinstalling the latest versions.  I have also plugged the tower into a cheap TCL tv and that displays the boot logo and I can access the bios and boot menu without any issue.

Multiple HDMI cables have been tried.

Does anyone have any ideas??

TIA 🙂

Ryzen 9 7900X

Asrock X670E PG Lightning

32GB G.Skill 6000mhz DDR5

1TB Samsung 990 Pro

Rdna 2 iGPU

I have an Acer monitor that does the same thing, it's a hardware issue on the monitor, never did find a solution for it, other than replacing it with a better (read: more expensive) monitor

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

The monitor likely has poor support for the low resolutions used in the BIOS, happens with some models.

Some mobos have an option to select BIOS resolution that might help work around it.

Nothing to do with drivers or SSDs.
