SSD not recognised by windows

Hi, 

 

i'll try and be as thorough as possible here: 

 

My old HDD was failing, still is, nw WD Blue SN550 NVME is in place, recognised in bios but not in This PC, it does show in DiskMan but as you can see from the screenshot I've attached, it's unallocated. 

 

I actually had this problem last year when  first set this PC up and after repeatedly formattng the drive and following everyone's help and instructions, the drive got to a point that everyone told me it was basically scrambled, so I went back to an old HDD. I just got this new one as a Xmas present and getting it into place went smoothly but everything since, not so much. I'm not sure what I could'v possibly done wrong but hopefully I've missed something.

SO right click on the 465.75 GB Unallocated and choose "format"

I thought that might be the case but was scared to try it after my last ssd failing. I've done this and a few other things like 50 times the last time around so I was definitely hesitant. 

 

I'll give that a try and let you know.

No option to format? Not even greyed out, just not there.

Do I need to partition this drive? I remember this from before but don't have a clue where to start. Hence my broken ssd.

EDIT: Right clicking to the left shows options to convert the drive but no format.

Right, go (EDIT, typo) with New Simple Volume.

I don't have a blank drive handy to walk through this with you

No worries!

Yes, use the whole drive (if you want to use it for Windows data/program storage) for the size.

So, that's it? I just need to copy my OS over etc now with Macrium? Thanks again.

Everything went well but I have one question... This third drive in my optimise/defrag, what is it and why is the name so strange? Should I do something about it? It says it cannot be optimised.
