Hi everyone,

I want to upgrade my set-up and as I work mostly with MacBooks I wanted to  get one of those thunderbolt extensions that provide DP or HDMI ports. As I already have my PC connected to my monitors I thought about using the same dongle for connecting the PC so I can easily switch between devices.

I remembered that Linus in his Personal Rig upgrade used one connected to his PC and after rewatching the series a few times I didn't manage to find how he managed to pass actually extend the Graphics card. I noticed that there's a cable going from the graphics card another PCI-e card but I'm not sure what that is.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's a loopback cable that takes the output of the GPU and feeds it to the Thunderbolt controller so that it can be embedded in the TB3 stream.
