Considering SLI...

I was planning on buying a 1440p monitor in a few weeks and I have put up for sale my GTX 770 as it cannot handle that resolution comfortably. So I have decided on either a GTX 760 SLI set-up (which would be significantly cheaper), or a GTX 780. The latter runs at about ~$460 on Amazon, but the former goes on sale (combined) at $420. Which one should I choose for the most balls to the walls performance at that resolution. Heat and power aren't really that bad because my ASUS motherboard has them spread aways away from each other and I have a 750W PSU. Just wanted to know.

I would suggest getting a 780. One single card is almost always better than 2 cards.

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

1) no to 760 SLI

2) yes to 780

3) why not 770 SLI if they're 3gb ed.

AFAIK There are no 770 3GB edition, just 2GB and 4GB Editions.

Sometimes sli can be the better value in per dollar frames. This depends on the cards of course and games but its always something worth looking at. Sometimes scaling stinks and sometimes its great.

The only way this works out is with me selling my camera, monitor, and GPU.
