PC upgrade / replacement

Go to solution Solved by Megazero,

thanks.

so just to make sure, if i am not buying a 4770K or a new HDD and not going to replace my gpu (sadly) should i get the sabertooth or is it a waste?

should i get the cooler master over the noctua?

and should i really wait for intels new Devil's Canyon or whatever? its seems like something worth waiting for if it will be within my price range but im not sure.

It's a waste~ Look at my rig, I use GD65 with 4770k~ if you dont want to replace GPU you can always goes 2 way SLI~ though I'd suggest selling it and buy a new single powerful GPU more than SLI.

Whichever you want. The review on the CM 212 Evo is really good, I do remember that Noctua is good as well but I'm more familiar with the case fan of Noctua than the CPU Cooler

Well... if you current rig still work for you then yeah, if's not then there's no point waiting. For all that's matter we dont know anything about Devil Canyon yet, and then we will need to wait for Mobo and potentially other stuff, so...

hey guys,

im new here to the forums and im from israel so excuse me if i have any grammer mistakes or anything.

i know it might be difficult to give me a pc build when you guys dont know the prices and component availability here in israel but please try your best.

im planning on building a new pc (replacing almost everything from my old one)
i5 4670k
Noctua NH-U14S
ASUS Sabertooth Z87 motherboard
Fractal Design Define R4 Window
MSI Gaming GTX 760
Corsair (i believe it was) XMS 3 8GB (4GB X2) DDR 1333MHz
WD 1.5TB hard drive
Samsung 840 evo 120GB
Enermax Modu 82+ 620W

I already have the hard drive, ram, power supply and graphics card from my old pc...
the upgrade using these components will cost me about 923$us.
I wish i had the money for an i7 4770k and a new Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM hard drive...
I can replace the motherboard with an MSI z87 GD65 Gaming and get an i7 4770K instead for about 77$us more (total of 1000$us) or a new 2TB hard drive for 31$ more (total of 954$us) or a total of 1114$ for both an i7 and a hard drive but its out of my budget, I'm no heavy graphics designer but i still do use some photo/video/audio editing softweres.
should I make this trade or am I going to be fine with the i5? (or maybe even just replace only the motherboard to save some money).
I can also put this money into any different component.

1. Budget & Location

lets say my budget is around 1000 US dollars (~3500 ILS - israel currency), maybe less in dollars because things here in israel usually cost more because of taxes & shipping. im buyimg this pc in israel (not shipping it from the US or anything).

2. Aim

this is going to be mainly a gaming pc, also going to do some audio editting and some minor graphic edits.

I want a somewhat quit pc that can better handle new out coming games that need stronger specs, i also want it to be quitter and run cooler then what i already have.

this pc is going to be overclocked.

3. Monitors
one dell u2312hm 1080p and one lg television display 1360X768. already owned.

4. Peripherals
no need, im already set there.

5. Why are you upgrading?
because my pc is getting kinda slow for me, and i want a faster, quitter, better cable managment, cooler (double meaning), future proof computer.

i currently have an i7 920 with stock cooling, no ssd and an old gigabyte ex58-ud3r motherboard.

here is an israely website (in english, if not click the england flag aroung the top of the website, the website some times won't work in english and will pop up a prompt saying the action was canceled asking you to try again) where if you want (you really don't havr to) you can build a pc, this website does not include every component i can get here but it gives you a nice list of some of the available components and the pricing, if it doesn't work you can always just browse around the website without the builder. they have a great store but sadly they are missing some of the high end cooling solutions ( getting the noctua from a different store)

https://www.tms.co.il/pcbuilder/1462

Edit: i wrote that 1 ILS = 3.5$... stupid me

the prices there are in ILS, 1$us = about 3.5 ILS.

if anyone has any questions about israel I might answer some of them, just please don't ask if israel is a desert where people ride camels to work or if it is a muslim contry because no it isn't and these are stupid questions. (i was actualy asked that once...).

few this was one long post for asking a pc build.

i would recommend going for a better ram, xms is not that good, probably go for g.skill ripjaws x 1600 mhz or the kingston hyper x blue 1600 mhz... :)

You dont really need such an expensive Mobo if you are on budget,so I'd suggest cut down on Mobo and upgrade the GPU to 770. Something like this

And the audio boost on this Mobo is amazing, maybe it just because I'm moving from a shitty Mobo to this one, but everything sound so much better ~

i dont really need a new psu, HDD (at least not a 1TB one), memory - i'm ok with mine... i'll have to live with it, and i can't really replace my gpu because i bought it only about one~two months ago so im not going to replace it...

i will probably wait as dragosudeki said although im not sure how long it will take for every thing to get to israel and how much it will cost here.

any more thoughts on the getting an MSI Z87 GD65/45 and getting an 4770k/new 2TB HDD/anything else?

That's just my suggestion if you havent bought any part yet~

There's no need to get 4770k over the 4670k, for gaming and simple rendering etc 4670k is more than enough. Harddrive it's depend on whether you need it or now, if you are running out of space then buy a new one.

Other than that, save your money for GPU.
