Need help in choosing switch

Hey guys,

I am actually new to networking. I am planning to buy a switch for my home I came across a switch which is cheap by cisco but cannot find many reviews. So can you guys help me with it? I also would like to know if I can set up a VLAN with pfsense on this switch. I don't know whether it is a managed or unmanaged switch.

Why do you want cisco? Do you know their cli?

 

That switch you listed seems to be a 100m switch, get a gigabit switch today.

 

If you want vlans, you need a managed switch, as you need to setup vlans to use them.

 

Id probably just get the netgear gs108e. There fine switches, and have a reasonble web gui/
