issues with my new hdd

so i got a new hdd and it just keep dying randomly only on steam i tried to dowload it on epic games launcher and it was perfectly fine i in epic games i get 25mbps dowloading while on steam
i get 3 mbps and it keeps droping and rising to only like 10 mbps tops i cleared my cache and that fixed it for like a good 2 minutes and it just keeps dying 

my hdd is SILICON POWER External HDD Diamond d30 1TB USB 3.0 ultra slim IPX4 Black all tho i dont think its the hdd problem 
i already cleared my steam cache made a memory diagnostic restared my pc multipale times scaned my drive

also i once was dowloading sea of thieves and i had the same problem i restarted my pc and it fine all was good but now it just dosent help
also sometimes it just flatlines completly

Basically... That's how it is with HDDs, especially on games that need decompressing during/after downloads. Externals are often even slower being 2.5" drives, and if it's also an SMR drive to boot you'll get massive "pauses" like this when writing big chunks of data like a game.
