Liquid Metal Plated AIO Copper Cold Plate Unlevel. Impact On Its Performance?

nick name

Curious to know the opinion of the community as to the impact the liquid metal plating on this cold plate may have.  The staining isn't a concern -- just the unlevel areas of the cold plate.  It's easier to see the difference in z height on the left side.

It will definitely affect cooler performance if this is after cleaning. I'd sand it on a flat surface.

Yeah, I'm pretty certain that there is some impact -- it's just hard to gauge how much without having measured it before the plating.

And sanding doesn't seem worth the effort compared to a new one.  It's a Fractal Design and they aren't expensive.  I just can't decide if any effort or expense is worth it without knowing the actual impact to performance.

I would try something less abrasive then sand paper first, scotch brite, or something similar, is what i use to clean up surfaces i've used LM on.
