I have Solus & set a resolution nor supported.  Anyway, I need to get the old res back, so the screen isn't blank.

press ctrl+alt+f2, this should drop you to a tty interface (the command line), from here you can search in the directories listed here to find the xorg.conf file where you stored your custom resolution (if you don't already know where the file is). Just delete the lines selecting your custom resolution and reboot, it should return to the default settings. You may also want to delete that non-functional resolution from /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-monitor.conf.
