edit: are you sure that's firestrike? because that score is about what is expected for timespy benchmark

link to the results please?

well, since it shows the link:

this is Timespy, results are exactly as expected,  not "low"...

its because its a 1st gen ryzen and you're most likely being cpu bound...

i deleted it bcause someone said that it can interact with the settings of the Geforce EXperience Performance mode.

btw, this is correct GeForce Experience can interact with everything,  its an unproven buggy pos and thus should be avoided at all costs... the overlay is also a bad joke, btw... use afterburner instead,  it's far more accurate and gives you better control.

(but yeah dont use them together, obviously)

Tldr: you *may* be cpu bound as you already suspected as per title,  but your system seems to be functioning absolutely normal,  and your timespy score is also completely normal for your hardware.

So i got myself a rtx 3060 ti and iam running it with a Ryzen 7 1700x running at 4 GHZ with Corsair Vengance 2333 mhz that i had overclocked to 2999 mhz in bios.

i thought that i have pretty low fps for a 3060 ti so i looked it up on cpu z and it said it runs at 1066 MHZ. But wasnt there a thing that you have to double the ammount CPU Z said? but anyway it isnt running at 3000 mhz even if the bios said so.

Next thing is that i read that the ryzen 7 1700x is bottlenecking the 3060 ti, even if a have nothing more than 70% cpu usage.

I attached a example of Farming Sim 22.

For folks,

Speichertakt = Memory speed

yeah thats true but just the Vram is running at 7000 mhz (GPU GDDR6)

The Dram is my problem i think but iam not shure.

Or did i missunderstand something?

Both DRAM and VRAM not suppose to run at 7000MHz. It might get overheat. That's the point.

okey but 7000 MHZ is the stock clock rate from the 3060 ti or am i wrong?

i didnt overclock the 3060 ti yet so it should run at base speed

just the Dram is overclocked.

it could be too hot bcause my case has bad airflow but wouldnt it run at full speed then when its idling?

the Dram clock rate dont changes when its idling (at least thats what CPU Z says)

Its a AORUS B450 Elite.

Now that you say it yeah thats true

but how can this happen?

do i have to type a start command so it uses all 8 cores or is it a motherboard problem?

any ideas why it is so low?

I think you overclocking it too much... But then how the heck high Speichertakt can bottleneck something?

i think thats VRAM...

Ryzen 7 1700x

honestly thats a bit weak for a 3060ti, but not super duper bad either... hmm idk what is the issue exactly? the ram speed? it should be running at whatever you set in bios tbh...  things like cpuz can be buggy... id check with something else, maybe even taskmanager,  that should either tell you your true "double" speed or half of it -- a screenshot of the bios ram settings might help also.

but the thing is,  there's no wundermittel and most people vastly overestimate what ram speed does... its usually a few fps here and there,  if that.

2999 mhz

odd number,  most ram would run at 2933mhz,  maybe try that (if its really running at default speeds right now)

yeah so it was timespy, thanks for the help first of all.

I think it is the cpu that is bothering me sometimes but i will see if i can upgrade it to a newer gen ryzen i think it would be the best for me.

i thought it was low bcause i saw people with a 12700 score but this maybe bcause they had a better cpu score.

do  you know if ryzen 7 1700x really just supports 2933 mhz?

i overclocked and its running at 3133 or something now but that would be higher than amd says the ryzen can handle?

i saw people with 3600 mhz ram on my cpu.

you will get much better performance with something like a 3600, maybe around 12000... totally possible imo. the issue is really that 1st gen ryzens didn't age well, they were a good choice back then because performance was "ok" and they were cheap, but now with newer gpus they'll hold you back (not by much but it will be noticeable)

actually yes, im pretty sure that's the case, "officially".

i dunno,  run tests... every hardware is different, but also keep in mind just because of  a higher frequency doesn't mean its actually performing better,  there's something called regression and its a real thing (hence testing required)

ps: if it doesn't crash or overheat it can "handle" it... the question is can the memory controller do it or not, which isnt guaranteed.

technically possible,  but i call shenanigans on that, unless you saw it in person.  😉

But Speichertakt is 7000. Software gore.
