remote access to unraid

hello guys,

 

i want remote access to my unraid for if i need a file, but thing is i have no knowledge and i follow guides but i can not get it to work

i setted up duckdns,

i setted up wireguard,

 

i configuered them to the guides , but i am not able to remotely access it outside my home, i know i do it wrong probaly but i don't know where,

You have duckDNS forwarding to your public IP? As in you have whatever unraid client they (I assume) have for duckDNS set up? DuckDNS has to know what IP to forward to. I skimmed the guide but not sure I saw that part. 
 

Have to make sure you opened a port on your router, make sure you have all the credentials set up correctly, and should be able to access your network as if you are at home when your not. I’m sure there are hundreds of guilds to do this, so maybe look for a few others and look for YouTube videos and make sure your not missing something.

i installed duckdns on unraid not my router,

i only want my unraid via the dns ,

the dns ping works fine,

 

i don't know what kind of information you need ,

 

the wireguard on pc works i guess,

i added the port 51820 in my router,

Can you elaborate on 'cant access it' ? Are you trying to access a share, or the UnRAID UI? 

Also are you trying to resolve it by its DNS address (e.g \\tower) or by IP address? Try IP Address

Yes and are you trying the UnRAID server by its DNS address or IP address? Try the IP Address (192.168.178.xxx)

No, you use the duckdns to connect to the VPN. Which it looks like youre connected fine from your screenshot. 

When connected, try to access your UnRAID using its local IP address. I assume youre using the hostname (e.g \\tower\share or https://tower) ; but DNS implementations can have funny behavior when it comes to VPN (seperate networks).

well someone helped me on discord,

setted up wireguard correctly, changed the peer dns server from 192.168.178.1 to 1.x.x.x and changed  the remote access to lan to remote access to server , re added the details in wireguard mobile and pc,  connected it and i can simply log in now with 10.x.x.x, from what i understand , all trafic i have on mobile and pc are now routered through the vpn wireguard thing  and i can access unraid everywhere now , although i still dont get it why i have this duckdns because it seems i can not use it to log in, it dont connect, ping is fine  so it is acive but it dont connect to my unraid

The DuckDNS is to connect to Wireguard.
