Hi guys,  My friend lost his cousin to a heart attack a month ago, he was in his late 20s and I was speaking with him today and I mentioned I had a 3d printer (which I'm rather new to using) and he asked me if I can 3d print his cousins signature as a keyring, he'd like to carry it with himself and I think he wanted to give a few to his cousins family. He offered to pay me but Obviously I can't take money for something like this. I really REALLY want to do this for them. He's given me a copy of his cousins signature to print out but I've never done 3d modelling before.

Can anyone recommend an easy way of doing this? or can I pay someone on here with experience to 3d model it for me.?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Merry Christmas

I would convert the signature (assuming you have it as some form of document/ image on your PC?) to a vector graphic, you can then import this directly into most 3d modelling software. Since vector graphics are made from points and curves it should be relatively easy to scale the signature, extrude it (add depth), add bevels etc.

Another way would be to import the signature as an image (.jpg, .png etc.) then trace around it, in top down view, to create the 3d outline before filling it and extruding it.

There are plenty of free apps you could use, GIMP, blender and Inkscape come to mind. You would also need an app that can take your model and slice it for 3d printing.

There are lots of decent online tutorials and guides for 3d modelling and printing, maybe start with a search for "how to create/ import a logo into blender, that should take you down the rabbit hole. 😁

Obviously there are many other apps you could use, those I mention are ones I have personally used and are all free.

If you DM me the image, I can have a stab. Helpful if could in the same message tell me what kind of dimension you are looking for.
