ACPI BIOS Error

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Return the processor or warranty it.

Hi! I've recently bought a Ryzen 5 5600x to upgrade from my 2600x. But I've run into an issue. If I install the CPU I get a BSOD with the stopcode ACPI BIOS ERROR

My mobo is a MSI x470 Gaming Plus with the latest BIOS update. I've got the latest chipset drivers and everything for it. I've tried reinstalling windows 10 and tried upgrading to W11 with no luck.

Even went as far as going to the store to buy a new MOBO a MSI B550 A-pro which says on the box Ready for Ryzen 5000 series. And the sales rep said it would work. Even got some new LPX Vengeance 2X8GB sticks just in-case the RAM was bad.

Tried it with the new mobo, no luck same error. Tried flashing to the newest BIOS. no luck. Tried the BETA BIOS, no luck.

Tried playing with the ACPI settings but the X470 only has the options for the LED light... The B550 had some other options but didnt matter if i enabled or disable them.

Also tried ECO mode on the 5600x

Tried changing the Powermanagement Plan aswell.

Since it didnt work with the new mobo Im back to my old x470. So if anyone got some tips or tricks for the X470, please let me know.

My full setup is

MSI X470 Gaming Plus

R5 2600x (R5 5600X)

Vega 64 Sapphire

16GB LPX Vengeance (or HyperX Fury 16GB)

RM 750X PSU

Agreed.
However I will say if you still have problems after getting the new chip, I noted you (Like so many others) grabbed a set of Corsair Vengeance sticks and those with Ryzen tend to NOT play well together. I can't begin to count all the threads posted that turned out to be this exact issue as the cause of their problems.

I'd try the Hyper X sticks first with the new chip and if it works, just return the Corsairs and be done with it.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have tried with the HyperX, both sticks in different slots. Tried just 1 stick and tested all the slots. But same results. Or even worse. Wont even post with 2 sticks of HyperX...

But I go to the store and return it with the Mobo and the new RAM.

Thanks yet again!
