Unless your computer has a very specific reason for running Windows 7, you really shouldn't be running it. It's no longer getting security updates, so it's no longer secure and thus not safe to use. Install Windows 10, or if you're trying to diagnose if Windows 10 is the problem, install Windows 8.1 instead since that at least is still getting updates.

While W7 hasnt suddenly become un secure ..its still as secure as it was, MS no longer provides ISO's officially, and no longer provides security updates under 'normal' circumstances.

The only way to get one would be from an unofficial source.

While many are not cracked or pirated, they are still unofficial and u'd have to trust they are ok.

A simple google search will give u plenty of options.

You can try W10 out from MS officially, if u find everything works but the system is slow, maybe the laptop is to old to handle W10, then an unoffical 'light' version maybe an option.

'W10 Ghost Spectre - superlight' for example.

Why Windows 7? It's not supported anymore and generally laptops that support 7 also support 8.1, which is supported until 2023, and most also support 10. What specs?

If you still want 7, I've always used this site back in the days. The ISO's were untouched, so it's safe to use and not pirated.

the problem is that her pc is 8 years old, i need to get it working since there are a lot of important stuff in there.
the os that was preinstalled on her laptop was windows 7, now there is windows 8.1 but it cant even boot to the login screen, i wan to see if changin os would change anything, if not im just going to deasseble her laptop and take ssd and hdd out

You can get them from the official microsoft site if you have a liscense key

I got mine off a random site after trying like 2 other sites cause those isos just failed on me for some reason, cant remember what site i got it from but if you wanna download outside of ms site expect to scour through a bunch of websites cause alot of those isos are broken and just give an error when trying to install, and no i wasnt downloading a cracked iso just a normal w7 ultimate one which keeps annoying the sht out of me with liscense verification popups

Also w7 is unsupported so it is "unsafe" or some stupid sht like that, but if you run a system from 2010 or something then just stick with w7 cause w10 is gonna run like sht on a low end laptop, not to mention the annoying telemetry and bloatware, though depends on the laptops specs, if its just a personal prefference for w7 then sure just keep using it, make sure to make system restores and backups though incase a virus ever infects the computer (which will never happen unless you go to shady sites)

Softlay is usually where i go for old ISO's

Its slow as balls to download but they're untouched ISO's, mirrors of when microsoft briefly hosted all the ISO's.

Make sure to note your windows key before reinstalling windows.

doesnt work for me :(( im trying a different os

In that case I'd actually try 8.1 which you can get here. My old laptop with 2430M ran much better on 8.1 than on 7, so that will probably be the case for you too. Windows 10 was a mess for anything after the Creators Update.

In the process of changing the OS your liable to lose data that's on the machine. If you don't want to remove the drive itself, grab a flash drive and a live image of a Linux Distribution such as Ubuntu, boot the live media without installing it and copy the data to a portable drive of some sort. Once the data has been backed up, then reinstall whatever version of Windows you want.

Just when it boots, don't install it, just continue into the live environment "Try Ubuntu". I'm pretty sure UBuntu's file manager is just called "Files"

Write the Downloaded ISO Image to your USB Drive using Etcher.

Put the USB in the computer your trying to copy data from and select it from that devices boot menu. I am not sure what key that will be at bootup, so you will have too ofigure that one out. It varies between devices.

When it boots up you should eventually land at a screen that says "Install Ubuntu" and "Try Ubuntu", Click "Try Ubuntu"

When you get to the desktop, there will be a icon on the left dock that looks like a folder, click it and you should be in "Files". The drives will be listed in the left pane.

Sounds like HDD itself is the issue.
