https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-12gb-to-feature-8960-cuda-cores-20-faster-in-mining-than-10gb-model

Videocardz have this as effectively a different card, essential a 3080 Super as it has 256 more CUDA cores as well as the extra Ram and Bandwidth. It clearly is closer to the 3080Ti in spec overall than the 3080 given the extra memory bandwidth. I will expect to be pretty smack in the middle between the 3080 and 3080Ti. I'm guessing a $999 MSRP (not that matters as it will be going for twice that on ebay before it's even launched and looks like it will be a favourite with everyone's favourite terrorist backer / credit card criminal supporter / drug dealers friend the cryptominer).

I do continue to be amazed at how many variations Nvidia are making for 30 series given that they could have just made the 3090,3080 and 3070 and doubled the MSRP and they would have still sold out every card. Seem to be giving themselves more work for no reason but I'm sure there will be 4 or 5 gamers who will get one before the end of 2022.

It's more memory bandwidth but a negligible number of extra cores, totally for mining

Lol remember how they pretended to care about getting cards to gamers with the LHR models.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

It wouldn't surprise me if they were behind the scenes working to try and keep Ethereum using proof of work. Miners will always pay more for Cards than gamers so if Nvidia could go 100% miner forever they would, it's a better business model with more profit.
