Hi Everyone,

This is my first ever topic on this forum so forgive me if I sound like a noob  :D

So as the topic title suggests this is my very first performance build, I'm planning to build a "High-End" computer but that will happen slowly, there are some things in this build that are high-end.

My plan is to have a really nice motherboard and case  B)

So here is the Part list

Processor: Intel Core i5 4670K

Motherboard: Asus Formula VI

Case: Corasir 450D

Memory: Corsair Vengence Pro 8GB (2X4GB) 1666 MHz

SSD: Samsung Evo 120GB

HDD: Seagate 3TB Barracuda (In the future make a raid array with more drives)

Cooling: Corasir H100i

PSU: Corasir RM 550 or 450

Now the graphics card is something that I am a bit confused about

What I am planning to do is to move this processor and depending on what you guys say for the graphics card into a SteamBox that I will build and then upgrade my system with the 4770K and better graphics card such as 780 Ti

But for now I am planning to get EVGA 750 Ti FTW edition, is that card really worth getting? Should I just use the on-board graphics on the processor? Even if I do game, for now I will only be doing 1080P gaming and when I do move it to the SteamBox that will be connected to my TV which is 1080P 3D tv, so is it worth getting that card? Or should I wait and just 780 ti in the future and  maybe 780 for the SteamBox build?

I am planning in the future to make a Custom water loop and I was hoping to go for a Poseidon 780 Ti, if they bring it out

Some of you may ask why I wanna go for motherboard that Power Full and "Extreme" main reason being is even if I go for a Cheaper less power full mother board, later in the future I will eventually go for the Formual Vi main reason being the way it overclocks and the way it looks and because of the watercooling inlets and outlets. And just so I get used to Overclocking with board

But my main question is should I go for the 750 ti (Evga FTW) or just save up and get a 780 or 780 ti?

And if you have anymore suggestions for me, feel free to tell me  :D

Kind Regards

Utkarsh Anand

Wow thanks,

This sounds kinda stupid but the main reason I wanted to for that board was the Aesthetics of the board.

And to be honest I know all the hype about the R4's and some people who see this will Judge me, but I don't like that case that much :/

And the reason I Didn't wanna get the 4770K just yet is because I was planning to move the Processor, RAM, Graphics Card (if I get one) PSU, basically everything Apart from the motherboard and case obviously into the steambox build

like i said the r4s there because their in close price range anyway cases are a personal thing :P

as for the i7's will always do far better then a i5 in all ways but for you using it for photo work and such id say get the i7 but if it were just for gaming get the i5 anyway you might get a few more frames

also if you like the looks of the motherboard ill suggest one of my favorite motherboard series of all time that the board was based off of

@SAV1OUR

Why do you even ask for his budget if you are going to suggest a build that is like way too expensive for him?

did you even read...

the 780 pushes him over budget and he wasnt factoring it in to the total original budget i put it there to show him the total cost would be

Ah yes, do the Sabertooths perform as well as the Rog Formula? And in the future I'm planning to get a ROG Front Base, will that be compatible with SaberTooth?

Another reason I wanna get the ROG Formula VI is because of the Onbaord audio, I do a lot of sound work to as I am a musician and I am quite picky about audio, Probably , more than video,

I have $4000 Genelec Studio Speakers and couple of costly studio head phones which are capable of 600 ohms and no other board offers that with on-board yet and as I don't wanna sped more on a sound card just yet

And as for the i5 (4670K) and i7 (4770K) which have better onboard graphics, or are the the same? And can those GPU's be overclocked? Easily?

And in the future when I do have the money I will go for the 4770K :D

they have pretty much the same features the only difference that they would have is formula has better on board sound but you can always add a sound card that would do better

both of them are the same generations so they both have hd4400 and if your talking about OCing the on board gpu i know nothing sadly but if you want a idea of hd4400 performance it can run LoL on high settings

the on board on the sabertooth will be fine running the speakers but personally i find on board and advanced on board like the formulas negligible but its up to you in the end if you wanted to spend extra on the sound card or get a ROG board. also the mpower i originally linked has high quality on board but if you want the armor looks then go with formula

awesome card can hold up in games at 1080p well and anyway makes a good trophy later when its old and you can say i have the fist card from nvidias new architecture :P

Just to correct you, they both have Intel HD Graphics 4600 (http://ark.intel.com/compare/75123,75048). The 4400 is on the lower end CPUs. It's an easy mistake to make. :D
