Hi guys,

I’m hoping to get a gpu (hopefully the Rx 6800xt), and I’m stuck on the cables I’ll need.

I have a fully modular psi, with 2x8 pin slots for the cables (see images at the end), so there’s no problem there.

The only problem I see is with the cables. I currently have these cables, but it seems to have only 1 connector from the psu, to 2 6+2 pin connectors.

Will I need to use 2 cables, or just the one?

Thanks.

Just the one should be fine, looks like the gauge of wire from the PSU to the first connector is beefier, so it has enough to handle the current.  I could be wrong on this, but it certainly looks that way as my SeaSonic PSU is the same way.

I think these are meant to connect to a gpu with for example a 8 pin and 6 pin.

The 6800 XT is a 300W card, so I absolutely recommend using two separate cables to power it. The recommendation is to use two separate cables for GPUs that draw more than 225W.

You didn't mention which PSU you had, so it's really all a guess until someone can look up the manual for it

I dont' see why there is any need to guess, as we can just see that it's a Corsair CXF RGB, either 650W or 750W. You can even see part of the name on the side of the PSU. The PCIe cables are 16-18AWG, but the main concern is the connector melting on the PSU side.

And both come with 2 PCIE cables.

750w, sorry, I should have made it clearer. And yes, correct, it is a Corsair CFX rgb. I probably should have mentioned that I have 2 of these cables as well
