No graphics card detected

Kenny77xD

Hey guys, I have a weird issue with one of my two new builds.

Specs:

MB: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X

GPU: ASUS Rog Strix RTX 3060 12G OC Edition

PSU: Corsair TX750M

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3200Mhz CL16

All components are brand new. Installed Windows 10 64bit on an 250GB SSD without issue. My problem is that the GPU is not detected.

Device manager doesn´t show it. In BIOS it detects it somewhat i guess because i plugged in an HDMI cable into the GPU and everything seems normal.

Except that the Integrated graphics are being used.

BIOS Update was made while MB installation via Q-Flash from USB (had to do that because the Board doesn´t support Ryzen 5000-series out of the box)

I also tried to install NVIDIA drivers but it fails (pretty obvious)

Tried to use another 6+2pin cable as well.

The weird thing is, that i plugged in the HDMI into the GPU but integrated graphics are used.

Doesnt that mean the GPU works but somehow windows doesn´t detect it?

As i said i built another Rig parallel with the exact same MB and it works great:

Specs:

MB: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X

GPU: Gigabyte Aorus Master RTX 3070 8GB

PSU: Corsair RMX850

RAM: GSkill Aegis 16GB 3000Mhz CL16

Thanks for your help folks 🙂

Have you tried disabling the integrated graphics on your CPU?

Things you could try just to be sure:

* Rule out GPU by plugging it into the other build

* disable integrated graphics through the BIOS

* update CPU through the AMD tool from their website.

As far as i know the 5600X should not have integrated graphics.

Only the G ones have an APU.

This is why i am confused.

Nevermind, i just recognized that in the device manager no integrated GPU is shown but "Microsoft basic display adapter".

Sorry that was my fault.

So that means it is my installed GPU but has no correct drivers installed right?

But why are all nvidia drivers (manual and gforce experience) failing on me?

Em what? AMD X series processor does not have iGPU!

Maybe something gonna bad with your mobo and BIOS.

Yes as i thought.

I corrected my statement with the integrated graphics.

It shows "Microsoft basic display adapter" which should be the default driver of windows OS.

Therefore my GPU is known to the system then. The issue i have now is that no nvidia driver is accepted by the gpu itself.

UPDATE:

It was the fault of a 4 year old Windows 10 Home installation USB stick. Failed to install the latest Windows Updates.

So it was also sort of my fault not noticing the failed updates 😞

Nevermind, thanks for your help. 😉
