My first build in a long time, your thoughts?

mittelmania

Budget (including currency): Around $1000, can be stretched a bit

Country: Israel, but parts can be imported from anywhere in the world

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 4K 60Hz gaming (not necessarily on ultra settings), software development including running VMs or Docker containers

Other details: I already own a RTX 3070 card and a 4K 60Hz monitor, as well as a keyboard and mouse

After driving a pretty non-standard setup for some time (System76 ultrabook laptop with a TB4-connected eGPU running an RTX 3070), it's time for me to build a proper PC that I'll be able to use for both Triple-A gaming and software development. I aim for 4K 60Hz gaming since I own a fairly new 28" 4K monitor and I don't want to replace it right now.

Here's my part list so far:

I am aiming for a high-end spec that will not be a complete overkill (so Ryzen 7 is awesome, Ryzen 9 and above are a bit too much IMO). I will buy whatever good case is available in my area since aesthetics/RGB lighting are less of a priority for my build.

What do you think?

0 correction other than that 650W PSU, which i would replace with the 850W version, or other PSUs at 750-850W from reliable brand and model.

Are you near a microcenter? That would help with some prices (127K - 350 USD)

I'd heavily recommend the Z690 + 12600K (12700K) route over Zen 3.
300 USD for 126K and 210 USD for a Z690 A Pro. (More performance, better upgrade path, better IO/Ports IMO)

Where's the case..?

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KkjTvf

CPU: Intel Core i5-12600K 3.7 GHz 10-Core Processor  ($299.98 @ Newegg)

Motherboard: MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard  ($209.00 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory  ($104.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Team MP33 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  ($79.98 @ Amazon)
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower Case  ($84.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Enermax Revolution D.F. 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply  ($96.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $940.91

Unfortunately there are no Micro Center stores in Israel, but parts are easy to come by regardless. I don't know what cases are available in my area so I'll get a case based on quality and availability after I have the part list ready to go.

Thanks for the Z690 + Alder Lake suggestion 🙂

I'd suggest upgrading the SSD to a PCIE Gen 4 drive to take advantage of the faster speeds.  For an extra $10 over the Samsung 970 EVO Pro you can get a Sabrent Rocket 4 which has great reviews!
