Howdy,

I have a 4 year old Microsoft surface book 2. Recently I've noticed the battery draining very fast (5% + per minute). I had Premiere Pro, OBS, Canon EOS utility and chrome open when I suddenly noticed it draining. It was dropping 10-15% per MINUTE until it died and turned off. I generated a battery report which looks just odd. Does anyone know if I can have the battery replaced for less than $649 from Microsoft. (That's all I could read about online, have not called them yet)

I guess I'm a clown for paying $3,300 for a laptop that dies in 4 years. smh

I attached a screenshot from the battery report. If anyone knows of any bugs that may be causing this, instead of a hardware failure that'd be great.

On top of that the surface dock charges slowly or not at all. And I've had to switch from the stock charger (which randomly wouldn't work) to a 100W usbc charger.

Thanks

If what that report is saying is true, your batteries are on it's way out.

Battery #1 can only charge up to 30% of it's full capacity...so that's about end-of-life.

Battery #2 can only charge up to about 55%...that is getting there....

There is one battery inside the tablet / main device, and another in the keyboard / dock.

You can ask local electronics / PC repair shops, and see if they are willing to do the battery replacement for you.

It's not really something intended for the user / consumer to service themselves....
