Windows 8 random shut down

some more details would help

 

what are you doing when this happens does anyhting weird happen before it does this

is this happening often/once in a while/ or a rare thing

specs?

other information?

the more info we have the easier it is to rule stuff out or pinpoint the problem

 

Also. update everything. and if thats what caused the problem, un-update everything.

Asrock z77 extreme 4

i5 3570k

asus gtx 660OC

 

It just happens randomly I can be watching videos or gaming. It happens often I believe 4 or 5 times today (13/04/2014) I updated everything still happens. I also ran antivirus and anti spy/malware

My friend used to have this problem... turns out the hot air from his gpu was blowing straight into his psu so it was overheating and would go grey and pink like this randomly.

He just turned the psu so that the fan got air through the bottom of the case. Try that? Also try post ALL your specs. :)

I knew I was forgetting something...

My psu is already facing down has always been like that, I also have overkill of fans(9) so I think there is lots of air flow.
