Auto-Hide Taskbar Suddenly Stops Working

Sometimes the taskbar auto-hide function suddenly stops working and the taskbar doesn't hide anymore. The only thing that gets the taskbar to hide again is pressing the windows button, but that doesn't solve the problem because once the taskbar shows up again it still won't hide again. Is there a solution without restarting your PC?
