What happened to Pioneer and Technics?

frozensun

Any info on those companies?

They used to make great audio equipment.

For many years here in eastern Europe I can not see not a single product from both companies.

Same from Sony too, except just Sony TVs.

I remember dad purchase 25 years ago whole audio equipment from Technics.

As a child I used to purchase only Sony headphones.

Now I can not see thosr headphones in stores at all for years.

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

Technics and Pioneer are both still around.

Technics is a brand of Panasonic that they use for their high-end audio gear, no idea why they're not choosing to import to your area though.

Pioneer's home electronics is part of Onkyo now, and they've been through a lot of bankruptcy and restructuring lately.

Sony is ... complicated.  They seem to do what they want, when they want.  Their headphones went away mostly with their Walkmans and Discmans though.

Pioneer still makes a few receivers, and Technics is still around. Sony still makes headphones (nothing special though).

The difference is that stereo systems are far less mainstream than they were 40 years ago, and it's much harder to make a real profit as an audio company. It's possible that distributors for this kind of stuff can't stay in business in some parts of the world.

Technics was shut down, but it was resurrected again some time ago. Here where I live Pioneer and Technics are still quite common.

Pioneer is, imho, still the gold standard in car audio.  They haven't gone anywhere.
