Hi there. I have an LG ultragear monitor. I cant remember the model number off the top of my head but I know this monitor was reviewed by ltt. I got it because they said it was good.

Let me stop here and say that this monitor is simultaneously the best and worst monitor I've ever had.

It is an amazing looking monitor. The best picture quality I've ever seen but I'm having problems with it. Gsync is causing some of my games and emulators to slow down pretty bad. Also it tears quite a lot and I have to combine it with adaptive vsync.

Take for example the emulator yuzu. With gsync on it runs at 20-30 fps and it stutters and stammers all over the place. If I disable gsync it runs at a smooth 60 fps.

Skyrim SE. Again it runs at 30 fps with gsync on but with gsync off I get a steady 60fps. At first it was still tearing even with gsync enabled. I had to turn off gsync and enable adaptive vsync just to get it running smooth with no tearing.

I could go on for ages here but you get the idea. Its happening with a lot of games and emulators. Not every one but most of them.

So even though I have a gsync enabled monitor. Even though it has a gsync sticker on it, gsync is badly broken.

The same goes with hdr and the 1ms response time. Yes it can do them but they settings are badly broken. I cant use them. Linus touched on this when he reviewed this monitor but he didnt stress just how bad it actually is.

Is there any way to fix the issues I'm having or am I just going to have to leave gsync off the same as hdr and that bs 1ms response time?

Try to disable Fast Startup in Windows and make sure to restart the PC or it won't apply.

This should resolve most GSync issues... may not be your issue though.

(you won't really notice slower startup so don't worry)
