Budget (including currency): 1000 SGD

Country: Singapore

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly e-sports title. Upcoming Kartrider drift, streaming and programming for work.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):
I have dual 1080p at 144hz and I plan to reuse my GTX 1070 TI. Looking to upgrade from my i7 4771 and a gigabyte b450m to a Ryzen 7 5800X which is at 510SGD on amazon. However the worry of AM4 being end of life and compatibility/performance issues with future windows 11 is my main concern. Getting a ryzen 7 5800x means that I would be getting a new motherboard potentially a b550 for around 200 SGD and a dual channel 16gb of ram. Is it worth the upgrade or is alder lake worth taking a look at. I have not taken a look at the new alder lake performance and value since I still do not really understand the 2 different kind of cores (Performance and power efficient cores). Should note that, I am not looking to upgrade my GPU anytime soon especially in this market.

Why the z690 though

coz intel haven't launch b660 or h670 mobos yet

so far the best to price performance z690 mobo is MSI pro z690-a ddr4

afaik existing ddr5 doesn't offer more frames than ddr4 b-die, besides ddr5 is way pricier compare to ddr4 since it's fresh

Best performance. I expect relative performance will improve as software authors begin to take advantage of the architecture.

I have decided to go with the Ryzen 7 5800X. But I can't seem to make my choice with a motherboard to go either a b550 or x570. Would love some insight. Working with around a 180 usd budget for my motherboard

AFAIK if you're only using pcie for gpu, just go with b550

x570 has a lot more pcie lanes, only get them if you need the lanes

most MSI offering is pretty good, I'm using b550m mortar even tho my case can fit atx

since yer in Singapore, can check carousell for mobos too... there should be folks upgrading to alder lake & selling off their used parts

Pick something from tier S or A.

Aw man. Didn't really have anything I could find to fit in my budget from Amazon/Newegg sg and wanted to get a new mobo for ease of heart. Went with the AORUS Pro MATX. Even though it's C-tier hope it doesn't affect too much.. Most of my games are CPU bound anw e.g. CS:GO and on 1080p
