USB 3.0 help plzz :)

Hello Guys..!

 

i just wanna ask that can we fit USB 3.0 Heads into a USB 2.0 Case

 

I am getting Bitfenix Merc Alpha Along with MSI 990FXA-GD80,

 

The motherboard comes with a 2 USB 3.0 Headers.. So can i hook them up in the 5.25" Bays Or 3.5" Bays ??

Sure you can buy a USB 3.0 bay adapter to connect to the internal USB 3.0 header.

You cant plug in a USB 3 header into a USB 2 (Or vice versa)

But you can get it to work (I think both ways) with an adapter

USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 are interchangeable in any combinations hence you can plug a USB 3.0 device into a USB 2.0 port and vice versa. The only thing is your speed will be limited to USB 2.0

 

Your motherboard has support for fast charge but only on the RED labelled USB 2.0 header providing higher amps to charge your devices quicker but only when your computer is shut down (Refer to MSI website under Super Charge). Plugging your device into the USB 3.0 will give it more transfer speed if your device support USB 3.0 but won't charge it any quicker.
