Good mic for video commentary?

Hello everyone that stops by to read  this post. I am trying to find a good mic for some video commentary and also just live face chatting with my family on the west coast. My laptop mic is awful and my web cam mic captures all the background noise. I was told that with a good mic set up I could get rid of all the back ground noise. Any and all help is much appreciated. Thank you!

plenty, either Audio Technica AT2020 or Blue Yeti, those are your best choices and not really close to your budget

AT2020 OR BLUE YETI ARE GOOD CHOICES but you can save some money and get like a blue snowball and save some money for not much of a quality loss, they both have good features but different features

AT2020 is a better mic overall than the blue yeti as far as sound quality (the blue yeti has a boosted bass that doesn't sound good for anything other than a talking voice) and the AT2020 also has much better mounting options because it's not a proprietary stand or mounting mechanism.
