Ssd + hdd or ssd only

Hi forum i Wonder is it a good idea to have a m.2 ssd for boot. Plus a normal sata 3 ssd for games. Or 1 m.2 boot ssd and a 7200rpm 2tb hdd for games. What is best to do?

If you can afford it, SSD will offer a smoother experience. If not, HDDs always have their ups and downs, slow asset loading can cause stuttering over time when disk gets slower or when it develops bad sectors.

All are "good" if that's what is within your budget and size needs. I like the SATA SSD these days for game storage but for many years I was Boot SSD+storage HDD for games. Finally replaced that old spinner with a 2TB SATA SSD. 

 

Just work within your budget and needs.

If you can get an SSD in your budget that you think is big enough (I recommend getting more than you need, just in case things get big in the future) then go for it. Otherwise SSD + HDD is best.
