RX570 and Crossfire

So my nephew is wanting a gaming PC for Christmas, and I have an extra PC that I use to run a stream on, but it ended up having very little use. I'm going to clean it up, add an extra SSD, and maybe put some new fans in it.

 

Its got a venerable RX570 in it, which should be fine for the game he really wants to play, "Hearts of Iron 4". He really likes the RTS genre. I have an extra of the same card, new in the box, and was wondering if there really would be any benefit to do Crossfire with RX570s?

It would look cool and all, and certainly be beneficial for several softwares (not many), but for a game like HOI4 with not much 3D to render, a Crossfire config won't help much.

 

I say you save it for another build as it's still a relevant gpu as of today and multi-gpu gaming is kind of a dead thing anyway.

From what I can see, HOI4 does not have properly multi-GPU support -- the second GPU will run? but from the looks of it, either NO or little FPS gain.

It is also not a very GPU demanding game, so better to stick with just one RX-570.

HOI4 is more of a CPU bound game. A 570 is more than enough for that type of RTS. If you really wanted to help out his experience, give him a new set of RAM or a better CPU.
