ARGB RAM heatsinks. Can I plug them to 12v mobo port?

Hello.

I have bought a prebuild. It has MSI MORTAR B460M MAG board. And I have been thinking about ARGB RAM heatsinks. The problem is that my mobo supports 12V on ARGB (it is called JRGB on mobo) and the heatsink's ARGBs are 5V. I am planning to put them on the splitter since there is only 1 port for ARGB and I might have some future upgrades to fans.  So do I need a controller or what to convert to 5V? Has anyone tried these before?

U can't connect it to v 12 header even if its argb as at best it will fry the leds or at worst might dmg your motherboard argb header . I guess there is converters but I haven't used it before.  But if u are planning to buy other argb stuff it might be good to invest in argb controller

You answered your own question, no. You need a 5v

Well that is unfortunate. I thought I could go without this. Any recommendations for controllers?

Well I do own a commander pro and a razer controller.  So commander if you are going to stick with corsair ( some people use adapters to connect non corsair items to commander pro but I haven't tried it ) on the other hand razer controller is only argb controller but works with almost every thing.( some connector do need alot of pressure to get it in so if u r not careful u could bend or break a pin on top of those connector are cooler master halo fans ) just keep in mind that it uses a USB 2 header on your motherboard
