I currently am running a Ryzen 7 3700x and there's a good deal on Amazon currently for a Ryzen 7 5800x, I am not worried about any issues with my GPU or PSU upgrading.

I mostly do some gaming with occasional streaming, and I'm just looking for some quick advice whether this upgrade would be worth it.

Thanks!

Not the best time yet I guess, probably just wait until another gen of CPUs come. Can be getting the Ryzen 6xxx or Alder Lake, or when Ryzen 6xxx or Alder Lake releases, the price of previous gen CPUs (like that 5800x) sometimes will get discounted anyway.

But, since I saw about AM4 would be phased out anyway on next-gen Ryzen, if your mobo already supports that 5800X and you don't plan yet to upgrade to next-gen CPUs with the change of mobo anyway, I'd get it, but probably wait until the price's further down.

Humor me, as you should do.

Thanks!

It has better single core performance, which will help in games, but probably not enough to warrant the cost of upgrading, even with a deal. I did make the jump from a 3700X to a 5900X, but that's both a more significant upgrade, and unnecessary for what you do.
