A while back, my B550m Aorus Elite motherboard was facing some issues, and I was desperate to update it. However, the gigabyte website was down due to some ddos attack, and I went online hoping to find somebody else who had uploaded the f13 bios update for my motherboard

In the end I found one, but it was a mistake. Turns out the bios update was from an OEM, Punch Technology. Now my motherboard shows a punch technology logo on startup , and I am no longer able to install bios update from gigabyte website as I keep getting "oemld mismatch".

This was all fine and good, until recently, where my motherboard is experiencing problems again. I am thinking of getting my motherboard exchanged, but I'm not sure whether installing an OEM bios would void the warranty

Either ways, this OEM bios thingy is really annoying me, and I feel uncomfortable having an OEM as my bios, when I had built my computer on my own. Is there a way for me to bypass this oemld mismatch or reinstalling my bios? Theres no Q-flash plus on my motherboard, and I have tried removing the battery to no avail

You can prob just flash via afudos, pretty sure there are some tutorials for that on yt, you will prob also have to make it force flash bios so find a tutorial on that aswell

I use a bios programmer just because its pretty reliable though for soldered stuff its gonna be a pain

Shit dude afudos looks super complicated, I don't think I have the technical knowledge to use it

Its really not that hard, just dl the bios image, if its called something weird then rename it to something easy (don't change the extension), stick it on the USB alongside afudos, boot then run afudos biosname.extention and it will flash.

Be warned though, this is very likely to result in a bricked board and if that happens recovery will be impossible unless the board has dual bios.

Or you have an external means of programming it, maybe if the board has an interface like spi you can use something like an evc2 or an actual bios programmer that can support spi

You could also.just directly solder the bios chip onto a bios programmer though that is gonna be pretty difficult

I managed to use afudos and managed to install bios through DOS. However I still got the same oemid mismatch. I tried searching for ways to force flash bios but I am unable to find any method for it
