Insider program --> official windows

Sapphire1217

I've been trying to update from the windows 11 dev insider builds to the official version of windows 11. Currently I am on version 22478.1012. I've contacted microsoft asking how to do this and they said the only way was to restore my device to windows 10 and then install windows 11. However this deletes all my data. Is there any way how I can update to the official release of windows 11 from the dev branch without losing my data? I downloaded the windows 11 media creation tool and made a bootable usb, but it wont work.

This is true. You need to restore back to the original backup you made when you switched to insider, or you must install fresh.
