First Build - Check Compatibility and Looking for Recommendations

Haaydon

Budget (including currency): $2000 (~USD 1500)

Country: Singapore

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: E-sports & Triple-A title at mostly 1080p & some in 1440p

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I'm new to PC building and have no existing parts to work with. I'm looking for a smaller form factor build, so far I've came up with a list below. Do let me know what I should change and what GPU will you guys recommend. Thanks in advance!

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550-I
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z 3600 2x8GB

Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB
Case: NZXT H210i

Power Supply: NZXT C750 Gold
GPU: RTX3060ti or RX6600XT?

Which shop are you using

Amazon or Lazada or Newegg

Using A Gen3 SSD When You Can Use Gen4 is Neither bad nor good

I Would Recomend a WD SN850

If You Want Very Good FPS And Awesome Raytracing, You can go with RTX 3060ti

If You Want Very Good FPS And You Don't Care About Raytracing And Want To Go Cheapo, You Can Go With RX6600XT

But RTX3060ti Can Outperform RX6600XT

For RAM Why not Going for The Adata XPG Spectrix Longdimm 3600mhz

They Are Cheaper Here In Malaysia

Pls Mark a solution as a solution, would be really helpful.

BTW pls correct me, iam really stoobid at times.

970 evo is overpriced, get a cheaper ssd like kingston a2000. Rip yoyr airflow if you go for an nzxt case so rip temps

Go for tridentz neo if you are overclocking, if not then go for the cheapest 3200mhz cl16 kit you can find

I'm looking to get parts from local retailer.
Does raytracing make a huge difference in graphics? is it worth the extra money?

Do you have any recommendations for cheaper B550 ITX or mATX boards? Also what case would you recommend? (Prefer to have tempered glass side panel)

Is RTX a Total Waste of Money?? - YouTube

Check out this video to choose between the GPU. I''d personally go for the AMD card tho, because I don't think it makes that much of a difference now and in the next 1-2 years.

Nvidia has also DLSS going for it, so if the titles you mainly play support it, maybe go for it.

But on the other hand, as expensive as the 3060ti is, you can sometimes get an RX 6700 XT for the same price, which outperforms the 3060ti, so now my list which card to look for first:

RX 6700 XT, then 3060ti and last RX 6600 XT.

Here's a list of all the parts I'd recommend. The cooler is from amazon and performs quite well (recently tested by Gamers Nexus) and the other parts are quite standard.

If you can't get the Team Group Ram, the crucial ballistix or corsair vengeance kit's look also good. G.Skill Trident Z is most of the time a few bucks more then these two.

Thanks for the GPU recommendations! Is the Ryzen stock cooler not good enough? I'm not looking to overclock or anything.

It has good longevity and also a cache. I wouldn't boot of a drive without cache. Maybe the SN750 as a compromise? But not something like a Crucial P2 or Kingston a2000 or SN 550 as they all don't have cache and will therefore have a shorte lifespan.

Maybe some drive of that tier: (from the SSD Tier list)

And yeah, it does come with a stock cooler, but it is first of all barely enough and second it is downfiring. I like tower coolers for the better airflow in the system. And you'll have more headroom and less possibility of thermal throttling when doing soft overclocks. I wouldn't recommend going full oc on this Motherboard tho.
