Radeon 6870 worth it?

I'm getting a new computer from NCIX,and I'm wondering if the 6870 is worth getting for a good price,should i stick with this or should i get something else?I'm looking for a a card will preform well for a affordable price.

Depends on the price, it is still a relevant card.

The 7850 will give you sliiightly better performance than the 6870, from memory.

The 7850 is also the best value card on the market imo.

Realistically, if the 7850 is more than $40 more expensive, the 6870 is probably a better investment.

Yeah, I would recommend the 7850. It's faster and consumes less power. Not to mention cheaper :)

If you can get one of those or two that would be a great performer for the price

If you can't get a 6870 for less than 160 get a 7850 or 660 then are cooler and perform better

not to mention the Driver update from AMD increasing performance across all 7000 series cards.

Get a 7000 Series or 600 Series if you wanna buy a card now as they will have better driver support.

I have a 6870 from Sapphire with a i3 2120, 4GB RAM and it is still a very good card. Far cry 3 on 1080p everything on high (except post processing) and I got steady 50 FPS

Like said before me, if its over 150 euro I wouldn't do it. Then better get a 7850 or even better 7870 because they are just much faster

I got mine 6870 for 100 Euro so it was a clear buy for me.
