so today i was watching LTT(as always)and my pc dies and restarts all of a sudden, should i be concerned?
i have a felling its a power supply issue but its a 450W and idk what 80+ thing it is caz its supper old and my pc parts are hella old meaning they wont take alot of power right?
i have a pentium 2180 at 2GHz and 4gb ddr3 ram with a HHD with 1 stock cooler and no exghost or intake-

Unless it keeps happening frequently, I wouldn't worry.  I doubt that Linus would something into his videos that breaks hardware, though I wouldn't be surprised if amazon did with their games.  And your computer doesn't suddenly overpower the PSU, unless something is broken, and in that case, you'll find out soon enough.

I agree with heimdali. If it doesn't happen frequently, it's probably not an issue.
I wouldn't expect your hardware to overheat but since you've written you have no exhaust or intake, it might be a good idea to monitor your thermals. You can do so using msi afterburner. Also, if you don't clean your computer regularly, I might take a look inside and check if any dust has built up over time.

If it's "super old", it's likely starting to fail. A good PSU can last upwards of 10 years, but lower quality ones may only make it like 5 years or so. In any case, you're going to want to replace it, as it can potentially damage other components in your system.

Your CPU throttles at 73°c, so you at least need 1 intake fan. By getting a fan, you should also get slightly better performance

Maybe it's time to give it a good cleanup.  It's always amazing how much dust they collect over time.

@Chris Pratt

How many PSUs for computers have you seen failing?  I have seen exactly two in about 30 years; one was plugged up with dust and therefore overheated, the other one failed after it had been running at 230V and then needed to work at 110V instead.  The latter was from Enermax, and they offered to replace it, but I didn't because shipping would have been too expensive.

If a PSU fails just like that after only 5 years, I expect to get it replaced under warranty --- and I'd probably sell the replacement because the quality is so questionable that I wouldn't entrust it with powering my expensive hardware any further.

Again, depends on the quality of the PSU. There's some PSUs that only have a 5 year warranty. Overall quality makes a huge difference. Just watching this forum since the pandemic has been enlightening, since there's been a noticeable uptick in people with PSU failures or other issues. The lack of availability combined with higher prices has led many to buy cheap no-name brand crap off Amazon, and well, there you go.

Who would buy a crappy PSU to ruin their expensive hardware?  It's also possible that people are using their computers more than they used to and their PSUs wear out faster because of that ...

@Sambadtech

A PSU supplies several voltages, and measuring them isn't so easy because you'd have to measure them under various loads.

You could ask your dad to buy you a used workstation off ebay.  That way, you can get a lot of computer for his money and

good hardware that doesn't give you trouble.

Plenty of people. I can't count the number of build planning posts just on this forum I've seen that had ballin' parts lists, except for a bottom of the barrel PSU. Not everyone understands how important a PSU actually is, and blow all their budget on the cool stuff like CPU, GPU, RGB, etc., and just throw in a PSU as an afterthought.
