Budget (including currency):

Not entirely sure, but it is a BUDGET build so hoping to keep it under or around the $500AUD mark

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Emulation: Playstation, PS2, N64 etc

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Okay so I have some major updates to my build and it seems to be taking a new direction (hence the new post)

Im looking at building a Mini ITX rig for emulation, primarily in a living room setting (hence the small form factor). Currently I have available to me a GTX770 Windforce, 8gb of DDR3 ram, an intel i5 4590, and a few ex office computers and a server i am yet to see (will have them hopefully by the end of next week. Just looking for some advice on what motherboards and CPU i should look at buying, and any other tips anyone might have. My one thing im definitely looking for on the motherboard front is bluetooth, as i will be using dualshock controllers. I'll almost definitely be running RetroArch on it and i think i will have it set to boot that up on start so it has a console like effect.

Thanks everyone !!! appreciate all the help 🙂

Motherboards with built in WiFi will have Bluetooth as well, since they're usually built in to the same chip. Since you have a 4x90 chip you'll either want to buy a Z97/H97 motherboard, or make sure to check the motherboard manufacturer's CPU support list. Earlier chipsets of that generation (Z87, H87, Q87, B85, and H81) might need BIOS updates before your CPU works, and it's difficult to know what BIOS revision you'll get on a used board.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
