GPU keeps continuoulsy boosting?

Go to solution Solved by Slayer3032,

Close all of your programs that have GPU acceleration, or disable it within that program.

High refresh rate displays used to also cause this in the past but usually newer cards can idle down with a 120/144hz display still. I wouldn't be surprised if 240hz+ prevents the card from idling down.

I have a buddy who's 3080 never hits full idle and easily uses more power just at the card doing nothing of value than any of my computers at the wall during idle.

Figured it out. It turned out that it was RTX Voice that caused the gpu too boost, probably because of gpu acceleration. i dont know what that is but thank you very much : )

Yep RTX Voice / Nvidia Broadcast do keep the GPU active anytime they're running.
