I am questioning either my setup or the website at this point. I benchmarked the following system:

Intel Xeon E3-1271
Asus H81M-E

16 GB of DDR3 @ 1600 MT/s

500 GB HDD running @ 7200 RPM

RX 550 2GB

450 watt EVGA BR PSU

I am using the intro scene from Elder Scrolls Skyrim on high settings and getting about 35 to 40 FPS. According to the website I should be getting more than 60. My thoughts are either the website assumes I have the 4 GB variet of the card and because it is an open world game it is SERIOUSLY hampering my FPS (but I doubt that). Something I am not aware of is bottlenecking this setup. The website is over exaggerating the amount of FPS I should be getting or I got some counterfeit RX 550s which is possible (I got them from Aliexpress a while ago). They are the XFX models and are recognized as RX 550 by Windows and AMD drivers. Speaking of which I do have all my drivers installed when testing this out.

Why was I testing out the system with Skyrim of all games? Its because it is one of my favorites and the beginning scene is a bit long giving the rig a chance to warm up to make sure no major issues are with it during gameplay. I can just install it, check the FPS real quick, turn around and let it run while I do something else. Anyways that's not what this post is about, I was just hoping to avoid that question to keep on topic.

use gpu-z to check the GPU details, it usually highlights fake cards.

Try a benchmark suite like 3DMark as it tends to isolate the CPU and GPU for their respective tests. you can then compare the GPU scores with other RX550s and make sure its performing on par.

Thank you. I will give those a shot.
