Depends on which Socket the old iMAC uses, do you have a picture of it's motherboard?

But then again, it's pretty much shit in 2021, if yoiu have something else, use that.

I don't think it will work. The iMac uses Socket P, it looks like, and the Pentium T4300 is Socket 478. (Confusingly, Socket P also has 478 pins.)  But I am not 100% certain.

The Merom C2D chips suggested on this site are $5-10 on eBay. 

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

the cpu is socket p i have another laptop with a t7300 and the pentium works in it but i use the laptop the imac jut needs to work till i get a t9600 for it
