I've got a serious bottleneck

ChowChow

So I've been having the same rig for the past 4 years. Here are the specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7 6700k 4.00GHz

Ram: 2x8GB DDR4 G skill 2133 MHz

Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M7

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming X

Storage: 447GB KINGSTON SUV400S37480G(SSD),  Seagate ST2000DX001-1NS164 (SATA )

CPU cooler: Corsair H110i

Almost forgot to mention I have 1000W corsair power supply

But recently I got a Gigabyte Vision GeForce RTX 3080ti. And now as a result I cant properly Utilize this beast, that's why I'm asking for your help.

I want to renovate my pc and switch the hardware that cant keep up.

So I would like to ask what would you recommend me to switch when my budget is at 800-1000$(if you can dive lower in terms of price go for it)(as long as I'm getting rid of this bottleneck to some extent)

P.S: I use the PC mainly for gaming

Ty for reading.

You need a new CPU, and with that, a new motherboard and preferably a 3200MHz CL16 dual channel RAM kit as a minimum, then you will feed the beast

PC Setup:

HYTE Y60 White/Black + Custom ColdZero ventilation sidepanel

Intel Core i7-10700K + Corsair Hydro Series H100x

G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 32GB (F4-3600C16Q-32GTZR)

ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 3080Ti OC LC

ASUS ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition Wireless

ASUS ROG Claymore II Wireless

ASUS ROG Sheath BLK LTD'

Corsair SP2500

Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO X (Limited Editon) & Beyerdynamic TYGR 300R + FiiO K7 DAC/AMP

800$ will be more than you really need to get a new CPU and mainboard.

For gaming, single core speed is what matters. So you could get a Core i5 11600 (non K), which is like 260$.
It should be slightly faster than the Ryzen 5600X and it makes your graphics card bottlenecking your CPU a little bit, so the graphics card can be maxed out.

Since you dont want to overclock the CPU, you could get a B560 mainboard with the connectors you want.

Since you're not overclocking, I added an option for air cooling your cpu. It's probably time to replace that HDD anyways, so I swapped your storage. I went with full SSD storage (transfer that Kingston SSD over too, because you can always use it for something (like backup game storage?).

Alternatively, you can get a 5800X to last you longer, but it'll put you very close to your budget limit.

I'm sorry but this is just incorrect. The 5600x beats i5 11600, Get a 5600x with a b550 gaming edge wifi and some 36000mhz cl16 ram

Yep

I was abit confused when @suedseefrucht said that an 11600 is faster than a 5600x, tbh id say they prob perform the same though id go for a cheaper 10400 or 11400 since 11600 is the same price as a 5600x

Not worth getting an 11600 over a 5600x considering efficiency and cooling, though if you can find a cheap 10400 or 11400 then sure those would be great options cause they are usually cheaper than a 5600x and not much performance diff either, efficiency is something to consider but then again 10400 is usually ~50-100$ cheaper than a 5600x so who cares?

Op just overclock your i7, safe volt max around 1.52v (14nm intel spec), if you cant keep temps under 80c id say max 1.45v for stability reasons

Plus you already have a decent board and a half decent aio so just overclock it for now till you can get a better cpu + mobo + ram

So which website shows neutal results?

Or how do you compare CPU's before you buy/recommend them?

tbh there is not one perfect site, I just look through reviews on tech power up and tom's hardware forum and watch youtubers such as gamer's nexus and jayz2cents for info

New CPU and RAM should do. If you need it now get a 5600X + B550 + 16gb 3600mhz. If you can wait I would wait for Alder Lake.
