My Mini-Review of Windows 8.1 Pro (Update 1)

flibberdipper

Well, this is basically the exact same as my previous review (check it out here), but with a few little differences.

Let's start off with the basics. It's a little faster, and doesn't seem much different. Or is it? Well, this is one thing desktop users will notice right off the bat.

Windows will now boot to the desktop by default.

And now for all of the other stuff. The start screen has the new right-click context menus, and the dedicated power and search buttons.

The apps screen is now alphabetized, and is easier to read, in my opinion, since it looks less cluttered.

You can also pin apps to the taskbar.

And now apps have their own little titlebars. They disappear automatically, but it seems that by dragging your cursor against the top of the screen, they will come back.

Sadly, Microsoft kept their word on the new start menu and being able to run apps on the desktop, so I wasn't able to look at that aspect of things. I will update the review when it comes, though. If you post, expect to be tagged. :P

Hey, that means it's better for desktop users. Sucks it takes hours to download it. Also, how is this like your other review? That was a whole new OS, this is just an update.

It's like my other review since it's just a slightly faster and leaner Windows 8. And this is basically going to be Windows 8.1.1.
