im going to be wiring my basement soon and was planning to use Cat 6A cable, any suggestions would be great

I'd just use CAT 6 because it will still carry 10 Gig E but just not for as long. How far away re you from your access point?

 

Also, CAT 6 is easier to get around corners, as well as being much cheaper. It doesn't really matter if you've got the extra money though. You won't get the extra speed unless you have a 10 gig router and a 10 gig network card.

If you're not doing runs longer than ~180 feet AND planning on using 10gb ethernet, I'd save the coin and just use Cat 6.

Just use standard STP CAT 6 as CAT 6a will yield no better performance to you and is more expensive plus you have to use the CAT 6a version of the 8P8C connector.

It's actually so you don't have to electrically test it like you do with standard CAT 6 when you want to run a 10 Gigabit connection over it.

it will be 50 ft to switch from router than 50 ft to longest run so no longer than 100 ft, 75 to pc, and consoles
