Can ExpressVPN be trusted?

It seems that the former CIO of ExpressVPN Daniel Gericke didn't have any problems with doing nefarious things such as breaking into human rights activists phones on behalf of the UAE. I have to wonder just how many people that he had working for him at ExpressVPN that are still there and are they similar things as it is clearly very profitable. Just how long has he been doing this sort of thing? Was he doing it while working at ExpressVPN? This is just the one thing he was busted on. No ExpressVPN is shit. The most secure way to get a VPN is pay for a VPS in a country with crypto not in the 14 eyes and then set it up yourself. Even then you still need to trust the VPS host

I'm not surprised to hear about that, even Edward Snowden posted about it in his last tweet. the fact that they hired a person who used to help governments in spying on their citizens tells me a lot about ExpressVPN values but the most annoying part for me is that he was working on behalf of UAE which definitely used his skills to hack journalists and human right activists' devices.
