Help with GPU selection.

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

The 770 is plenty. Keeping gameplay smooth during the massive battles will depend on your cpu though.

Sorry for my ignorance beforehand, I'm new to building PC's and am in the process of picking out parts for my first build. Also I'm in college so I don't have much cash to spare. I plan on this PC being a "Esports" machine that can stream long hours while still keeping cool temperatures. I have an adequate case and CPU cooler in mind, but I don't know which kind of GPU to pick, one that exhausts air out the back or one with 2-3 fans.

Although I want this to primarily be an esports PC, I would also like to play modern games, and I would like to record massive battles of total war games at a smooth fps. (If you don't know what this is please check the link below.) so I was thinking a GTX 770. And $350 is about my price point. I will be playing on a single monitor at 1080p. I don't really need to go above that. Can anybody recommend something else maybe cheaper or should I just go with a 770??

Also I apologize for the long post.

Thank you for the reply! I was thinking of pairing it with an i5 4670k. I don't think the hyper threading of an i7 would make a huge difference. But I could be totally wrong.

You're correct. A 4670k should do wonderfully. If it didn't, it probably wouldn't help to get a more powerful cpu anyway.
