okay yeah that settles it in my head, the microphone is broken. the way instrument lines work is it should have made the microphone quieter

I dont have access to microphone boost on this mic/interface for some reason

If you are going to install another driver other than the audio ones you will have a lot more problem than quiet microphone.These updates for newer components some are incompatible and you can break your pc if you don't reinstall windows
