New CPU

1.) I have a AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor with 16 GB RAM (3200 Mhz I think) and motherboard is PRIME X570-P which should be compatible with newer processors.
2.) My budget is probably around 500. Idk much about what processors costs compared to their performance. I would like to keep it under 500, maybe even under 400, but I can go up another 150 if absolutely needed.
3.) I do a lot of different things. I do schoolwork (programming, casual 3D rendering that school PC's can handle), play games with friends and kinda competitively and stream a few times a month/week depending on mental health and amound of schoolwork.

If you really want to upgrade, the 5800X might be your best bet, though if you want to keep it under $400 you might have to go 5600X. I wouldn't say the 2700X is a bad CPU though, and should be plenty to run a 3060. I'd probably wait till Zen 4 or Alder Lake to come out, that way you can get a deal on a last gen CPU (they should be releasing some time around the end of the year into early next year)

I recently bought a new graphics card (3060) when I finally found one in stock and I am now thinking about which CPU I should upgrade to. I would be really thankful if someone knows a CPU that works at about the same pace as the 3060 (Vision OC).

Ps. I’m not used to forums so if I am using it wrong with this post/topic, then idk, just remove it or something.

Couple questions first:

1.) What CPU do you have? You probably don't have to upgrade, and if you do, you can probably keep the motherboard and RAM and save some money

2.) What is your budget?

3.) What do you do on this computer? Just game, occasionally video edit, large program compiles, etc.?
