Ok, so I've looked everywhere, searched almost every possible video on this and nothing seems to be working. Tried all the quick fixes, changed all the settings, nothing will make my GPU use its full capability. I have recently clean installed Win 10, coming from Win 11 beta preview (just to try it out). Whilst running games, the CPU does not reach high utilization nor does it overheat. The GPU on the other hand, tends to be used at around 70% to 80% all the time, sometimes even dips a lot whenever it feels like it. Attached, you can see the utilization graph and temps for both the CPU and GPU playing Far Cry 5 on High settings, also played on 2560x1080 res. I don't know what else to do, and as I said I've tried pretty much every trick in the book to make my GPU use all its horsepower. Note that I have used MSI Afterburner's own OC Scan in order to overclock the GPU. Under heavy load, core clock reaches around 2012MHz. Also did a +300MHz on GPU memory clock. I don't know if there is anything else I could try. Has this been happening to any one of you?

Here is my full spec list:
CPU: Intel i7-7700 (NZXT x62 AIO)

GPU: MSI GTX 1080 Seahawk (Came with custom Corsair AIO)

MoBo: Asus B250F

RAM: 2x16GB Corsair 3200MHz (I know the CPU doesnt support over 2400MHz, planning on upgrading in a very near future)

PSU: Corsair RM750

Boot disk: Samsung 840 250GB (SSD)

HDD: WD Black 1TB

Games 1 disk: Crucial MX500 500GB (SSD)

Games 2 disk: Crucial 1TB (M.2)

If it matters, the CPU and MoBo date from 2017, the GPU is new from 2020, the rest of the components are mostly from 2016. Games are all installed on either the Crucial SSD or the Crucial M.2. Also, I’m using all the latest drivers and Win 10 build.

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any help 🙂

Lmao my 1650 Super never reaches 100% utilization, same goes for the CPU also!

I wouldn't be too worried, the card is probably just to darn powerful for it to be used to its fullest. Have you tried a benchmark to see if it'll use 100% of the GPU? Could be that you aren't actually pushing it to its fullest in the games you play!

I know it CAN reach 100%, even in some loading menus my GPU spikes to 100% utilization, then dips when rending actual frames. Also, I haven’t tried “official” benchmarks yet, but I have tried the in-game benchmarks for FC5, BF1 or BF5 (don’t remember lol) and also Forza Horizon 4. All show a 70-80% GPU usage.

My GPU is always at 98%-100% while gaming.

It could be a bottleneck due to single core performance of your CPU not being enough to feed the GPU with data.

It also could be bloatware.
